Ann Coulter Calls President Obama ‘The Retard’ On Twitter

Ann CoulterRipping a recent page from Tagg Romney’s playbook, racist and conservative (at the risk of sounding repetitive) commentator, Ann Coulter, is once again writing verbal checks that her a** can’t cash.

Proving how desperately she craves attention — which I’ll grant her for a few moments — and the gnawing need she has for relevancy, Coulter took it to the tweets and called President Barack Obama a “retard” during the third and final presidential debate:

And this isn’t the first time that Coulter has used the insensitive word to insult people that she has zero respect for — like the 47 percent of Americans that GOP presidential contender, Mitt Romney, labeled victimized leeches intent on draining the government of all resources.

But that isn’t the only time. She also hurled the slur at Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, after his interview with Republican LGBT rights group spokesperson, Christopher Barron:  “Great video: head of GOProud interviewed by retarded person on MSNBC,” she tweeted, her obnoxious tone evident even in print.

Coulter bandies the word about with the ease of a woman who has been using ignorant, insulting language her entire life, protected by her White, Blonde shell of pseudo-respectability. This latest show of failed lessons in basic respect comes on the heels of Dan Niblock, father to a son with Down syndrome, demanding that Coulter apologize for her statement that Obama was pandering to the “retarded vote”:

She could have insulted Obama’s base with other words, but she didn’t. She settled on “retarded.” And she felt comfortable doing so, and that’s a problem. I know Ann makes a living in the “shock and awe” arena, and I know she’s famously abrasive and callous and mean, but I’m still mad. I’m mad that my son and others like him are collateral damage whenever someone feels like firing off an insult. I’m especially mad when celebrities do it, because they influence society at large. For her fans, Ann just reinforced the notion that “retard” is a go-to insult. Thanks, Ann. I’ll remember that on some random Tuesday in my future when I come home from work and Ozzie is sobbing because some snot-nosed kid called him a retard on the playground.

She couldn’t even manage a shred of sensitivity during October, Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

When President Obama made a wise-crack about his bowling being worthy of the “Special Olympics,” conservatives were in a uproar. Quite frankly, the comment was beneath him and he rightfully apologized. When Wayne Brady made a joke about Sarah Palin’s son, Trig, who has Down Syndrome, he also issued a heartfelt apology. When Chicago mayor, Rahm Emanuel, called a group of people “f**king retards,” Palin demanded that Obama reprimand his long-time friend:

“I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of that inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel, and not allow Rahm’s continued indecent tactics to cloud efforts,” said Palin.

“Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the “N-word” or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking.”

The request was made in a Facebook post written by the former governor titled, “Are You Capable of Decency, Rahm Emanuel?”

The fact that conservatives as yet have not requested– nor seem to be expecting — an apology from Coulter undoubtedly proves that, when it comes to her, they already know the answer to that question.
